Who We Serve
Ottawa Valley Midwives provides care to healthy low-risk women and their families throughout pregnancy, child birth and the immediate postpartum period. You can access midwifery care with our clinic if you live in West Ottawa, Lanark County, parts of Refrew County and parts of Leeds-North Grenville County. Contact the clinic if you are unsure whether you fall within our catchment area.
Choice of Birthplace
We have privileges at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Almonte General Hospital and we attend homebirths throughout our catchment area. Talk to your midwife about what option is best for you. Details >
Due our location and large urban and rural catchment area, we do NOT hold privileges at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre.
Our practice of nine midwives works within a model of shared care. This means women receive care from a team of 2-3 midwives. By having prenatal visits with each midwife, women will have a relationship established with the midwife that is available to care for them in labour or in urgent situations.
