COVID-19 Safety

The following is an overview of some of our COVID-19 safety procedures designed to keep our clients and staff safe.

Your routine prenatal and postpartum visits now follow these procedures:

  • You will have one or two fewer visits over the course of your pregnancy in order to be able to space visits in clinic.

  • Some in-person visits will be replaced with virtual (telephone or Zoom) visits.

  • If you are unwell, please notify the office so we can reschedule your visit or change it to a virtual visit as needed.

  • Our waiting room is now open to clients and their support persons.

  • When you enter the clinic, please wear a mask and wash your hands.

For Home Visits:

  • Only the client, the baby, and any necessary support persons may be present.

  • All adults present must wear a mask.

For Virtual Visits:

  • Telephone visits include no encryption.

  • Zoom visits:

    • Are booked with our professional account.

    • Are password protected.

    • You will receive an email invitation the day prior to your Zoom appointment. If you do not receive a Zoom invitation prior to your expected visit, please contact our office.

    • You can access Zoom through the web-based platform or by installing the Zoom app on your device.

    • We highly encourage you to include your support person(s) in any Zoom visits. This is their chance to meet your midwife and ask questions.

  • There will be no physical assessment (blood pressure or baby’s heart rate) on the week when you have a virtual visit booked.

  • Your privacy is important to us. While we cannot guarantee against hacking, no person will be included in your virtual visit without your permission, and your face and voice will not be recorded.

  • Midwives will document your visit as they normally would.
